I was first attracted to Reiki while working full time in a Government organisation where I met a woman from my department who was always so serene and calm that I wanted a piece of what she had! She told me all about Reiki which I had never heard of before and I quickly booked myself a session and never looked back . I was very quickly “addicted” to the peaceful & calm feelings which I always felt after each session. I soon found myself signing up for a Reiki 1 class which led onto Reiki 2, Advanced Reiki, then finally completing the Master/Teacher level in 2011. Apart from the Reiki 1 workshop I was taught by The Reiki Training Centre throughout.
Anytime I feel tense or stressed in my life now I always give myself a Reiki session and ensure that I receive several sessions from other Reiki Masters as this helps me to maintain a calm equilibrium in my life.
Reiki is an ancient Japanese hands on healing technique which aids relaxation, anxiety, stress relief & enhances your intuitive abilities as well as many other health benefits.
The client is asked to lie on a massage table, fully clothed, removing only their shoes. Starting at the head, the therapist will gently place her hands over the eyes for a period of up to 5 minutes, then moving on to temples, ears, throat, then down the body, ending at the feet. If you prefer not to be touched then I can work only in your aura. The whole process takes one hour in which the client will feel total relaxation and quite often falls asleep wherein deep healing can take place.
You may experience tingling, sensations of heat or cold as the healing is taking place, these are all signs that energy is shifting and toxins are being released from the body.
There are 4 levels of Reiki , Levels 1, 2, Advanced & Masters. With each level you receive an attunement which connects you to the Reiki energy and increases your power & healing abilities. Therapists often report feeling a lot of heat emitting from their hands whilst giving Reiki. Reiki can also be used to treat animals & plants.
Karuna Reiki is the Jewel in the Crown of Reiki and is the highest level after Usui Reiki Masters has been achieved.
I completed my Usui Reiki training to Master/Teacher level in 2011 with the Reiki Training Centre & the Karuna Reiki Master/Teacher training in 2014 with Karen Summers of the Rosemount Centre in Aberdeen based on Taggart King’s training programme.
I offer small, informal workshops from my home, a quality certificate is provided. If you are interested in beginning your training as a Reiki Therapist then please get in touch to arrange a mutually convenient date & time.
